How the checklist works
Readiness is the weighted share of applicable checks marked complete; unchecked means not tested and Not applicable is excluded. Essential checks (by default SSL, form submission, form emails arriving, redirects and no noindex block) count five times as much as the others. A failed essential check caps readiness at 50%, and the checklist is never ready while an essential check is untested or failed.
Use Not applicable only when the feature does not exist in the site being checked, such as payments on a site without checkout or old URLs on a brand-new site. A customised list with no essential checks cannot establish readiness. Verify real user journeys and a rollback plan before launch.
